Stalin publicly rebutted Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman's claim that most Indian states had agreed no additional bonus should be paid for paddy, calling it false. He cited a February statement by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan as evidence contradicting her claim.

Hon’ble Tmt. @NSitharaman,
If what you claimed is true, you could have simply released the letter without any explanation. That alone would have been enough for people to read it and understand the truth for themselves.
Instead, by writing such a long explanation and then releasing the letter, you have only exposed your own falsehood.
You have also claimed that most of the State Govts across India have agreed to your demand that no additional bonus should be given for paddy. This is a blatant lie.
Just this February, Hon’ble Kerala Chief Minister Comrade @PinarayiVijayan has publicly stated his position on this, and his statement below stands as clear proof.

Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin issued a public rebuttal to Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman over her handling of a letter related to paddy procurement bonuses. Stalin said that if her claims were true, she could simply have released the letter without added explanation, and argued that the lengthy accompanying explanation she provided exposed inconsistencies in her position. He specifically challenged her claim that most state governments across India had agreed no additional bonus should be given for paddy, calling it 'a blatant lie.' As evidence, Stalin cited a public statement made in February by Kerala Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, which he said contradicted Sitharaman's claim and included a link to it. The exchange reflects an ongoing dispute between Tamil Nadu and the Union government over agricultural procurement policy and farmer bonus payments, framed by Stalin as part of a broader pattern of Centre-State friction over financial support to farmers.
