#Delimitation: The sword that hung over our heads has now descended upon us.

In consultation with our DMK MPs, we are reaching out to Members of Parliament across states and devising a coordinated strategy to counter this grave danger.

This is not about parties or individuals. It is about protecting the rights of our people.

I appeal to all parties and MPs across India to unite to safeguard our democracy.

Editorial context

In this bilingual post, M.K. Stalin said the long-anticipated threat of delimitation had now materialised, describing it as "the sword that hung over our heads" now descending. He stated that he had consulted DMK Members of Parliament and was reaching out to MPs across states to devise a coordinated strategy against what he called a grave danger to Tamil Nadu's political representation. Stalin framed the issue as transcending party or individual interests, describing the protection of people's rights and democracy as the primary duty of all political actors, and appealed to MPs and parties across India to unite in a single front to safeguard democracy against the delimitation proposal. The tweet reflects Stalin's effort, in his capacity as DMK President and Chief Minister, to build a cross-party coalition of parliamentarians opposing the Union government's move, positioning it as a matter of federal balance and representation rather than partisan politics, under the hashtag #TNWillFightTNWillWin.
