M.K. Stalin predicted DMK would strengthen its hold on Coimbatore and defeat the NDA alliance heavily in the Nilgiris in the 2026 election. He criticised Prime Minister Modi's 'double engine government' claim by pointing to delays at Madurai AIIMS, and mocked AIADMK leader Edappadi Palaniswami over a black-shirt protest against Delimitation.

M.K. Stalin predicted the DMK would strengthen its position in Coimbatore and that the NDA alliance would suffer an unexpectedly heavy defeat in the Nilgiris district in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly election. Responding to a claim reportedly made by Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Coimbatore that a 'double engine' government (same party at Centre and state) would speed up development work, Stalin said the people of Tamil Nadu could judge that promise by looking at the delayed Madurai AIIMS hospital project, and thanked Modi sarcastically for his visit while saying they would meet again 'next election season.' He also mocked AIADMK leader Edappadi K. Palaniswami for questioning whether wearing a black shirt and raising black flags would stop the Delimitation exercise, saying all of India was now laughing at the remark, and warned Palaniswami against supporting BJP-backed laws in future. The tweet is part of a series of campaign posts covering DMK's Coimbatore and Nilgiris tour, combining election predictions with pointed criticism of the Prime Minister and the AIADMK leadership over Delimitation and development claims.
