M.K. Stalin criticised what he described as 'horse-trading' unfolding after the change of state government, alleging that a party without a majority sought support from allied party leaders, bargained for votes in a confidence motion, and induced some AIADMK and AMMK members to switch sides. He accused certain parties of hypocrisy for previously campaigning against such tactics.

M.K. Stalin issued a sharply worded political statement describing a sequence of events he termed 'horse-trading at galloping speed,' alleging that a party lacking a legislative majority sought support from allied party leaders, negotiated votes from a faction of AIADMK members ahead of a confidence vote, and also secured support from an AMMK member. He further alleged that some AIADMK members were made to resign and were inducted into the ruling party at its headquarters. Stalin questioned whether voters had cast their ballots to witness such scenes, and criticised parties that had projected themselves as principled ('pure force') as now standing exposed as a source of 'sorrow.' He also accused Congress of hypocrisy, alleging it had claimed it would only extend support if NDA backing was not sought, yet was now watching the unfolding events from within the cabinet, calling its opposition to the BJP 'fake.' The tweet is a pointed criticism of post-election political manoeuvring in the state.
