M.K. Stalin defended his flagship 'Naan Mudhalvan' (I am the First) youth skill-development scheme, launched during his tenure as Chief Minister, after its social media pages were reportedly renamed or had posts deleted. He said such actions cannot erase the scheme's achievements or the gratitude of the young people it helped, and warned that discontinuing it would hinder Tamil Nadu youth's progress.

Editorial context

Former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister and DMK President M.K. Stalin responded to reports that the social media pages associated with his government's 'Naan Mudhalvan' (I am the First) scheme were being renamed and had posts deleted. Stalin said that while page names and posts could be altered or removed, the achievements of the scheme and the gratitude of the many young people it benefited could not be erased, saying they remain 'archived' in people's hearts. He recalled that during his five years as Chief Minister he repeatedly urged youth to keep studying, and that Naan Mudhalvan was launched as his dream project to support young people seeking to advance through education and skill-building. He warned that discontinuing or dismantling the scheme would set back the development of Tamil Nadu's youth. The tweet is framed as a defence of his government's legacy programme amid apparent changes made to it under the successor administration.
