M.K. Stalin said the Tamil Nadu government's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) conducted a raid at the house of former minister and Thiruvannamalai South district DMK secretary A.V. Velu, calling it politically motivated and noting that no corruption case from DMK's tenure had ever been proven in court.

DMK president M.K. Stalin said that the Tamil Nadu government's Directorate of Vigilance and Anti-Corruption (DVAC) was conducting a raid at the residence of former minister and DMK's Thiruvannamalai South district secretary, A.V. Velu, and noted that Velu was fully cooperating with the process. Stalin said Velu would face the matter legally and prove his case in court. He alleged the raid was carried out with the intent of political vendetta, adding that history shows that in no case pursued as corruption from the DMK's period in office have charges ever been proven. Stalin said the DMK is not an organisation that would be frightened by such intimidation from the ruling party, asserting that the party has faced far greater repression before and would overcome this as well.
