DMK president M.K. Stalin urged that archaeological excavations begun under the Dravidian Model government at sites such as Keeladi and Poroonai be continued by the incoming government, so that evidence of Tamil antiquity is brought before the world. He said that at a time when attempts are being made to belittle, distort and misdirect Tamil history, excavation findings from sites like Keeladi are emerging with concrete evidence of the antiquity of Tamil civilisation, including its early use of iron. Stalin called for further excavation of sites still hidden underground and undersea, and said the history of the Indian subcontinent should be written starting from the south. He framed this as an opportunity for people to take pride in their history while also creating new history, referencing locations including Tenkasi and Malaiadipatti in the message. The tweet reflects Stalin's continuing advocacy for state-funded archaeology as a means of asserting Tamil cultural identity and historical significance.
