M.K. Stalin warned the Tamil Nadu Chief Minister against holding talks with the Karnataka government over Cauvery water, saying such negotiations could undermine Tamil Nadu's legally secured rights. He said DMK had always rejected this approach and called for an all-party meeting instead.

DMK president M.K. Stalin warned that Tamil Nadu's Chief Minister should not engage in direct talks with the Karnataka government over Cauvery water sharing, describing it as a risky proposition that could undermine rights secured through decades of legal struggle. He argued that such negotiations could set back Tamil Nadu's position in ongoing legal proceedings, and said DMK had consistently rejected this approach whenever it was proposed in the past. Stalin said Tamil Nadu's Cauvery rights should not be compromised amid alliance considerations, and called for convening an all-party meeting and consulting farmer associations before deciding next steps. He appealed to the Chief Minister to abandon the plan to travel to Karnataka for talks.
