NEET, EWS Quota
DMK president M.K. Stalin criticised the Tamil Nadu government for deploying police personnel at Periyar Thidal amid protests over the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test (NEET) and the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) quota. He questioned why the government, which claims Periyar as its ideological founder, denied last-minute permission for a two-wheeler awareness campaign organised by the Dravidar Kazhagam. Stalin noted that similar campaigns had previously been conducted peacefully and within lawful bounds by the Dravidar Kazhagam, and described the denial of permission as deserving strong condemnation. He called on the government to abandon what he termed repressive politics and grant permission for the campaign led by Dravidar Kazhagam leader K. Veeramani.
