He said he was resting at home on doctors' advice and that previously scheduled programs, including the party's 'Mupperum Vizha' event, had been postponed on the instruction of the DMK's General Secretary, with a new date to be announced later. Stalin said he expected to continue resting for two to three more days as advised. He noted he was pleased to see DMK cadres mark founder Anna's birth anniversary the previous day, and asked party members to similarly observe Thanthai Periyar's birth anniversary and the DMK's founding day the following day with enthusiasm — garlanding Periyar's statue, taking the Social Justice Day pledge at all party offices, and hoisting new party flags to mark the start of the DMK's 78th year.
