On Social Justice Day, marked on the birth anniversary of social reformer Thanthai Periyar (E.V. Ramasamy), DMK president M.K. Stalin paid tribute to him as the 'rationalist sun' who worked to help generations of Tamils live with dignity. Stalin said that while many generations submitted to domination in the past, one generation witnessed the revolution Periyar brought about, and subsequent generations have seen its effects; however, he noted that domination in society has not fully disappeared, and identifying its remaining forms is a responsibility that falls to future generations. He said that as long as questions such as 'why, for what, how' remain alive, darkness cannot overtake society, and expressed hope that the flame of rationalism lit by Periyar continues to shine across generations. The post is a values-based tribute invoking Periyar's rationalist and social-justice legacy rather than an announcement of any specific government measure.
