While communist leaders await better seat numbers, major ally starts election campaign.
Highlighting the cynical betrayal and unilateral bullying that characterized the ruling party's approach to coalition politics, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 3, 2014, pointed out that while veteran Communist leaders were patiently waiting for fair seat allocations, the AIADMK had unilaterally launched its election campaign and declared candidates across all parliamentary seats. Stalin noted that this brazen act of political deceit exposed Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's total lack of respect for ideological allies who had actively supported her in past elections. He emphasized that democratic alliances must be founded on mutual consultation, ideological commonalities, and shared policy goals, whereas the AIADMK viewed other political parties merely as dispensable stepping stones to be used and discarded at will. Stalin contrasted this treacherous behavior with the exemplary democratic traditions maintained by the DMK under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, where coalition partners are treated as esteemed family members and consulted on every major policy and electoral decision. He affirmed that this humiliating treatment had completely unmasked the AIADMK's arrogant authoritarianism. Stalin urged all progressive secular forces to reject such duplicity and unite behind the DMK to safeguard democracy.
