Stalin noted that an astonishing 929 party aspirants had applied and appeared for candidate interviews to contest the 2014 Lok Sabha elections across Tamil Nadu and Puducherry. He remarked that this overwhelming turnout of highly educated professionals, grassroots veterans, youth wing leaders, and women activists reflected profound confidence in the party's democratic processes and signaled an impending, decisive electoral triumph for the DMK-led alliance. Stalin pointed out that while rival parties were struggling to find credible candidates and were torn by factional infighting, the DMK exhibited unprecedented organizational discipline, ideological unity, and popular momentum. He emphasized that the interviews, conducted personally by party president Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi and senior leadership, provided a transparent platform to identify meritorious, selfless public servants.
