Delivering a scathing critique of the ruling party's deceptive governance, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 5, 2014, condemned the AIADMK administration for its total failure to implement its heavily publicized 13-point agenda for women's protection. Stalin pointed out that following widespread national outrage over crimes against women, Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa had grandly announced a 13-point security plan—including installing CCTV cameras in all public buses, creating 24-hour women helplines, and setting up fast-track courts in every district. However, more than a year later, not a single one of these promises had been implemented on the ground, leaving women and young college students completely vulnerable to street harassment and violent crime. Stalin emphasized that this administrative apathy mirrored the AIADMK's unfulfilled 2011 election manifesto, which was filled with deceitful, discarded promises. He recalled how previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi established pioneering women's welfare programs, all-women police stations, and equal inheritance rights through concrete statutory delivery rather than empty media posturing. Stalin demanded immediate budgetary allocations and time-bound implementation of safety infrastructure, affirming that the DMK will relentlessly champion women's security.
