Shocked by Malaysian Air tragedy. We need to learn and make our air traffic safety guidelines stringent.
Expressing profound shock and grief over the mysterious disappearance of Malaysia Airlines flight MH370 carrying 239 passengers and crew, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 8, 2014, conveyed his heartfelt sympathies to the distressed families awaiting news of their loved ones. Stalin emphasized that this catastrophic international aviation tragedy must serve as an urgent wake-up call for aviation authorities worldwide, particularly in rapidly expanding civil aviation markets like India. He pointed out that while air travel has become an indispensable lifeline for millions of passengers and international commerce, passenger safety, radar tracking redundancy, and pilot emergency training protocols must never be compromised. Stalin urged the Ministry of Civil Aviation and the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) to conduct thorough safety audits of all domestic and international aircraft operating in Indian airspace, make real-time flight tracking systems mandatory, and upgrade oceanic air traffic communication infrastructure. He asserted that modernizing air safety protocols and enforcing stringent maintenance standards are vital duties of responsible governance. Stalin affirmed that passenger safety must always remain paramount in transport policy. He prayed for the affected families.
