En route to Kanyakumari to start 2014 poll campaign from 4 pm tomorrow. Support DMK and its allies.
Commencing the decisive statewide campaign for the 2014 parliamentary elections, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 13, 2014, announced his departure for Kanyakumari, Tamil Nadu's southern cape, to inaugurate the party's election tour. Stalin emphasized that beginning the campaign from the sacred land of Thiruvalluvar's monumental statue symbolized the DMK's deep ideological commitment to Tamil cultural identity, social justice, and constitutional secularism. He called upon the people of Tamil Nadu and Puducherry to rally behind the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance to liberate the state from the authoritarian stagnation and corrupt misrule of the AIADMK regime. Stalin noted that while Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa governed through arrogance and administrative isolation, the DMK was heading directly into the streets and rural heartlands to connect with common citizens. He pointed out that Tamil Nadu was suffering from crippling ten-hour power blackouts, soaring prices of essential goods, and agrarian distress that urgently demanded progressive leadership. Stalin urged the voters to vote for the Rising Sun symbol to restore accountable governance. He affirmed that Kanyakumari will sound the opening bugle of democratic triumph. He affirmed that beginning the campaign from Kanyakumari marks the beginning of an invincible democratic surge.
