Leading a determined election campaign across Tenkasi parliamentary constituency on March 16, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to elect Puthiya Tamilagam founder-president and alliance candidate Dr. K. Krishnasamy with an emphatic majority. Addressing massive gatherings of agricultural laborers, beedi workers, weavers, and subaltern communities, Stalin highlighted Dr. Krishnasamy's lifelong dedication to the struggle for Dalit empowerment, social equality, and human rights. He emphasized that the DMK-led Democratic Progressive Alliance was firmly united by the shared ideological mission of eradicating social discrimination, securing educational reservations, and protecting secular constitutional democracy against right-wing communal forces. Stalin pointed out that under three years of the AIADMK regime, the southern districts had suffered from industrial neglect, agrarian drought, and severe caste friction exacerbated by administrative apathy. He promised that electing Dr. Krishnasamy will guarantee that Tenkasi's pressing demands—including the long-pending Shencottah-Tenkasi-Tirunelveli rail gauge conversion, rural drinking water schemes, and welfare pensions—are effectively championed in Parliament. Stalin urged the electorate to cast their ballots for the alliance to restore dignity, progress, and social justice. He affirmed that the struggle for social justice and subaltern dignity will continue unabated.
