TN police website says there are 19685 open positions at all levels not filled for two years.

Editorial context

Presenting indisputable official data directly from the Tamil Nadu Police portal, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 17, 2014, revealed that an astonishing 19,685 police vacancies across all operational ranks had remained completely unfilled for over two consecutive years under the AIADMK administration. Stalin pointed out that while crime rates, chain-snatchings, and political violence were skyrocketing across the state, existing police personnel were subjected to grueling 16-hour shifts without weekly rest or overtime allowances due to acute workforce deficits. He noted that over twenty thousand educated, physically fit youth who had cleared recruitment screenings were kept waiting indefinitely without appointment orders because the ruling party was busy stalling recruitment processes for illicit pecuniary gain. Stalin recalled how previous DMK governments under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi systematically constituted the Police Commission, established specialized recruitment boards, and recruited tens of thousands of constables and sub-inspectors transparently. He asserted that a depleted police force cannot ensure public safety or citizen security. Stalin pledged that upon returning to power, the DMK will immediately fill all 20,000 police vacancies, restore orderly working hours, and safeguard public peace.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
