Launching a spirited election campaign across Thiruvallur parliamentary constituency on March 25, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to elect prominent intellectual, author, and Viduthalai Chiruthaigal Katchi (VCK) candidate Dr. D. Ravikumar with an overwhelming majority. Stalin addressed massive gatherings of industrial laborers, agricultural workers, Dalits, and youth, highlighting Ravikumar's distinguished record as a passionate champion of social justice, subaltern empowerment, and constitutional equality. He emphasized that the DMK-VCK alliance was forged on shared ideological principles of Dravidian rationalism and Ambedkarite emancipation, dedicated to eradicating caste discrimination and defending minority rights. Stalin pointed out that Thiruvallur had suffered immense neglect under three years of AIADMK rule, which witnessed rising atrocities against marginalized communities and the paralysis of local manufacturing clusters due to power cuts. He urged the electorate to vote decisively for the alliance candidate to send an articulate, fearless progressive voice to the Lok Sabha. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will always stand shoulder to shoulder with the VCK to advance democratic equality and inclusive social justice across Tamil Nadu. He affirmed that the struggle for social justice and human dignity will continue unabated.
