Conducting vibrant street-corner campaign meetings across the diverse commercial and residential neighborhoods of Coimbatore on March 27, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin engaged directly with local working families, small traders, and factory apprentices. Stalin listened intently as residents shared the unbearable hardships caused by runaway inflation, soaring cooking gas prices, and the AIADMK administration's catastrophic failure to provide steady electricity, which had pushed micro-enterprises into bankruptcy. He emphasized that Coimbatore's industrious spirit was being systematically suffocated by an arrogant, inaccessible state government that cared only for self-serving corruption. Stalin recalled how previous DMK governments led by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi created specialized industrial parks, provided uninterrupted three-phase power, and established social security welfare boards for industrial laborers. He promised that the DMK will ensure emergency power allocations, lower VAT on industrial inputs, and revitalize stalled central road connectivity projects. Stalin urged the gathered citizens to unite behind the Rising Sun symbol to elect candidates who will fiercely defend Coimbatore's economic vitality. He affirmed that people's welfare will always remain the party's highest duty. He affirmed that economic revival and small-business support remain top governance priorities.
