A step ahead to bring justice for eelam Tamils with the UNHRC resolution. Indian govt stand non-consistent and condemnable.
Welcoming the adoption of the historic United Nations Human Rights Council (UNHRC) resolution in Geneva mandating an international investigation into war crimes and genocide committed against Eelam Tamils, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on March 28, 2014, strongly condemned the Indian government's shameful decision to abstain from the vote. Stalin declared that the international community's decision to institute a credible inquiry into the horrific atrocities perpetrated by the Mahinda Rajapaksa regime during the final stages of the civil war represented a vital step toward long-delayed global justice. However, he lamented that New Delhi had once again betrayed the universal moral sentiment of Tamil people worldwide by cowardly abstaining, demonstrating utter diplomatic spinelessness and moral bankruptcy. Stalin recalled that the DMK under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi had severed its alliance with the central government precisely over New Delhi's refusal to support an independent international probe into Sri Lankan genocide. He emphasized that seven crore Tamils will never forgive this betrayal of innocent Eelam Tamil lives. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will relentlessly champion genuine self-determination and human rights for Eelam Tamils in all global forums.
