Leading an intensive campaign roadshow across North Chennai parliamentary constituency on March 31, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin urged the electorate to elect dedicated grassroots leader and DMK candidate R. Girirajan with a resounding majority. Stalin traveled through dense residential colonies and bustling industrial clusters in Royapuram, RK Nagar, Thiru-Vi-Ka Nagar, Perambur, and Kolathur, engaging directly with dockworkers, thermal plant employees, auto drivers, and fish vendors. He highlighted Girirajan's tireless dedication as a grassroots advocate who understands the daily struggles of Chennai's working families and possesses the commitment to voice their grievances effectively in Parliament. Stalin criticized the AIADMK administration for neglecting vital civic amenities, stalling port-connectivity elevated road projects, and imposing steep price hikes on essential commodities. He recalled how previous DMK governments under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi revitalized North Chennai by expanding civic infrastructure and launching the historic Metro Rail network. Stalin called upon the people to cast their votes for the Rising Sun symbol to restore civic pride and working-class dignity. He affirmed that the DMK will always fight for North Chennai's development. He affirmed that port connectivity and working-class welfare will always remain top priorities.
