DMK is accepted as pro minority, pro development across TN.
Articulating the foundational political and social philosophy of the Dravidian movement, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 1, 2014, affirmed that the DMK is universally recognized and embraced across Tamil Nadu as an unyielding champion of minority rights and progressive socio-economic development. Stalin emphasized that the DMK's political identity is built upon the dual pillars of social justice for the marginalized and visionary economic modernization for the state. He recalled that successive DMK administrations led by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi enacted landmark policies to protect and uplift religious and linguistic minorities, including creating the 3.5 percent separate reservation for backward Muslims, establishing the State Minorities Commission, providing government aid to minority educational institutions, and safeguarding Wakf properties. At the same time, the DMK transformed Tamil Nadu into India's leading industrial and technology hub through infrastructure investments and human capital development. Stalin contrasted this proven record of inclusive progress with the divisive, reactionary politics of communal parties and the opportunistic duplicity of the AIADMK. He affirmed that the DMK will always stand as the protective shield of all minorities and the architect of shared prosperity.
