Launching a determined election campaign across the vital industrial and urban constituencies of Sriperumbudur and Alandur on April 2, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to secure decisive victories for DMK candidates Dr. S. Jagathratchagan and R. S. Bharathi. Stalin addressed huge gatherings of automotive factory workers, tech professionals, trade union members, and local residents, highlighting Jagathratchagan's exceptional parliamentary track record in securing central infrastructure funds for Sriperumbudur and R. S. Bharathi's fearless legal advocacy for democratic accountability. He pointed out that Sriperumbudur, developed into the 'Detroit of South Asia' through major multinational investments attracted under previous DMK governments, was currently suffering from severe industrial stagnation due to AIADMK power blackouts and infrastructure neglect. Similarly, in Alandur, civic amenities and storm drainage were left half-finished. Stalin urged the electorate to reject corrupt ruling party promises and cast their votes for the Rising Sun symbol in both the parliamentary election and assembly by-poll. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will restore rapid economic development and social justice across these dynamic constituencies. He affirmed that grassroots public service remains the greatest strength of DMK representatives.
