Presenting irrefutable empirical evidence obtained through the Right to Information Act, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 2, 2014, proved that all existing electricity production added to the Tamil Nadu state grid was generated exclusively from projects conceived, approved, and executed during the DMK administration. Instead, the capacity additions that gradually eased the state's power deficit—including the Mettur Thermal Power Plant Stage-III, North Chennai expansion, and Kudankulam nuclear line integrations—were entirely designed, negotiated, and financed under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi's stewardship. Stalin emphasized that governance requires forward-looking technical planning and sustained fiscal investments, qualities completely absent in the current regime. He stated that the RTI disclosures thoroughly unmasked the ruling party's deceptive campaign rhetoric. Stalin affirmed that the DMK remains the only party capable of securing Tamil Nadu's energy security. He affirmed that empirical facts remain the most effective antidote to political propaganda.
