Let it be power or infrastructure. Is there any developmental project planned and executed by AIADMK in the past?
Delivering a direct challenge to the ruling regime during his election campaign tour on April 2, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin questioned whether the AIADMK could identify even a single developmental project planned, funded, and executed during their tenures in power or infrastructure. Stalin pointed out that while Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa indulged in relentless self-congratulatory advertisements, the ground reality across Tamil Nadu told a story of complete stagnation, unfulfilled promises, and administrative paralysis. He emphasized that whether examining thermal power generation plants, transmission grid upgrades, highway expansions, or modern urban drainage systems, every major infrastructure asset operational in the state was conceived and built under DMK governments led by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi. Stalin observed that the AIADMK's governance was characterized solely by inaugurating half-finished DMK schemes or renaming welfare initiatives for narrow partisan propaganda. He urged the electorate to hold the ruling party accountable for plunging Tamil Nadu into darkness, demanding an end to administrative incompetence through the ballot box. He affirmed that only the DMK possesses the vision to build modern infrastructure. He affirmed that sustainable industrial progress requires visionary infrastructure investments.
