Started campaigning today for Durai Raj and Mohammed Jalil of DMK for Sivagangai & Ramanathapuram constituencies respectively.
Launching an extensive, high-voltage election campaign across southern coastal districts on April 3, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to secure decisive victories for DMK candidates Suba Durairaj in Sivagangai and S. Mohammed Jaleel in Ramanathapuram. Addressing massive gatherings of dryland farmers, artisanal fishermen, graphite mine workers, and minorities, Stalin underscored the urgent necessity of electing articulate, dedicated grassroots leaders to advocate for southern Tamil Nadu's long-neglected developmental demands in the Lok Sabha. He pointed out that both constituencies had suffered acute neglect under three years of the AIADMK regime, which failed to mitigate recurring droughts, ignored basic coastal safety, and allowed vital industrial schemes to stall. Stalin recalled the transformative developmental initiatives executed under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi's leadership, including the Ramanathapuram combined water supply scheme, Cauvery river drinking projects, and welfare boards for minority communities. He urged the electorate to reject divisive, corrupt forces and vote overwhelmingly for the Rising Sun symbol to restore economic progress, communal harmony, and social justice across southern districts. He affirmed that protecting coastal communities and ensuring water security remain sacred governance duties.
