Delivering a biting political satire on the ruling party's deceptive campaign slogans, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 4, 2014, contrasted the AIADMK's proclaimed ideological motto—'Peace, Prosperity, Progress'—with the grim reality of its everyday administrative practice. Stalin remarked that while the ruling regime prominently emblazoned these noble words on government billboards, its actual governance consisted of peacefully prospering personal wealth through systemic corruption while completely neglecting the state's economic progress and public welfare. He pointed out that under three years of Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa's autocratic rule, Tamil Nadu had witnessed peaceful progress only in the accumulation of disproportionate assets by the ruling clique, while ordinary citizens suffered from unprecedented ten-hour power cuts, skyrocketing inflation, collapsing public healthcare, and agrarian distress. Stalin emphasized that genuine progress is measured by new industries, jobs for educated youth, reliable irrigation, and social dignity, none of which the AIADMK delivered. He urged the electorate to see through this cynical hypocrisy and vote decisively for the Rising Sun symbol to restore honest, people-centered governance across Tamil Nadu. He affirmed that authentic democratic governance must always prioritize working families over political elites.
