Campaigning for Virudhunagar candidate Rathinavelu today. He was instrumental in bringing many industrial projects to southern districts.
Leading a spirited campaign across Virudhunagar parliamentary constituency on April 5, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to secure an emphatic victory for DMK candidate S. Rathinavelu. Stalin addressed bustling gatherings of trade union members, chamber of commerce representatives, and factory laborers, highlighting Rathinavelu's exceptional track record as a prominent industrialist and former Chamber of Commerce president who played an instrumental role in attracting major manufacturing and infrastructure projects to southern Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that electing an experienced commercial visionary like Rathinavelu would ensure that Virudhunagar's unique industrial needs—such as the revival of the Sivakasi printing hub, technological modernization of match units, and textile corridor expansion—are effectively advanced in the Lok Sabha. Stalin contrasted this visionary competence with the incompetence of the AIADMK regime, which allowed southern districts to suffer severe industrial de-growth due to crippling power shortages. He urged the electorate to vote for the Rising Sun symbol to restore industrial vitality and generate youth employment. Stalin affirmed the DMK's steadfast commitment to southern industrialization. He affirmed that balanced regional industrialization remains vital for economic progress.
