Continuing his extensive campaign across Virudhunagar district on April 5, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin shared visual records of the vibrant popular support received along rural highways and village junctions. Stalin made several impromptu stops to interact with groundnut farmers, weaving families, and rural women who greeted him with traditional 'Aarti' and shared their everyday hardships under AIADMK rule. Villagers complained bitterly about the lack of regular drinking water supply, crumbling rural primary healthcare centers, and the complete failure of the state government to disburse crop insurance relief for drought-damaged harvests. Stalin reminded the gathering that previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi transformed rural infrastructure through the Anaithu Grama Anna Marumalarchi Thittam, free electricity for farmers, and the construction of concrete Samathuvapuram housing colonies. He assured the rural communities that the DMK will fight untiringly to secure comprehensive agrarian loan relief, reliable water distribution, and improved health services. Stalin urged the voters of Virudhunagar to translate their deep affection into an overwhelming victory for the Rising Sun symbol. He affirmed that rural prosperity and agrarian welfare remain top priorities of the party.
