Leading a high-energy campaign across South Chennai parliamentary constituency on April 6, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin rallied voters to elect articulate parliamentarian and DMK organizing secretary T. K. S. Elangovan. Stalin conducted extensive roadshows through Velachery, Saidapet, Virugambakkam, and Mylapore, inviting citizens, trade union workers, and youth to participate in the grand evening election meeting at T. Nagar. He emphasized that electing an experienced, principled, and intellectually formidable leader like Elangovan would ensure that South Chennai's vital urban demands—including flood prevention, Metro Rail expansion, and drinking water security—are voiced effectively in the Lok Sabha. Stalin highlighted the acute neglect suffered by Chennai's middle class, traders, and IT sector under three years of the AIADMK administration, which imposed crushing electricity cuts and exorbitant property taxes without delivering basic municipal sanitation. He recalled how previous DMK administrations transformed Chennai into a global IT destination by creating TIDEL Park and the Old Mahabalipuram Road expressway. Stalin urged the electorate to attend the T. Nagar rally and vote decisively for the Rising Sun symbol to restore visionary governance. He affirmed that articulate parliamentary advocacy remains vital for defending Tamil rights.
