Documenting the grand finale of his campaign tour across South Chennai parliamentary constituency on the night of April 6, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin shared visual records of the massive public gathering at T. Nagar. Stalin addressed tens of thousands of enthusiastic citizens who packed the thoroughfares, reflecting widespread popular desire for change after three years of AIADMK neglect and urban decline. In his comprehensive address, Stalin underscored the acute infrastructural and environmental challenges confronting South Chennai, including the degradation of the Pallikaranai marshland, clogged stormwater drains, and persistent drinking water shortages in newly annexed municipal zones. He contrasted this current urban distress with the golden era of civic expansion during previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, which constructed major over-bridges, IT expressways, and desalination plants. Stalin praised the discipline and tireless commitment displayed by grassroots party cadres throughout the arduous daylong tour. He urged the electorate to cast their ballots decisively on the Rising Sun symbol to ensure modern, sustainable, and inclusive urban development for South Chennai. He affirmed that sustainable urban planning and environmental preservation remain vital commitments of the DMK.
