Drawing public attention to the unmistakable ideological imprint of right-wing extremism, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 7, 2014, pointed out that the BJP's 2014 national election manifesto was prominently decorated with photographs of RSS ideologues, providing a transparent explanation for the overt revival of sectarian items like the Ram temple at Ayodhya. Stalin stated that this blatant display removed any lingering doubt that the BJP's campaign was completely controlled and directed by the Nagpur-based RSS headquarters, which seeks to undermine India's secular constitutional democracy. He emphasized that by elevating majoritarian polarization to official party policy, the BJP was threatening the peaceful coexistence of religious minorities, Dalits, and backward classes across the country. Stalin contrasted this regressive communal doctrine with the Dravidian movement's foundational principles of rationalism, social justice, and Perarignar Anna's vision of universal human fraternity. He cautioned the people of Tamil Nadu against falling prey to forces that weaponize faith for electoral hegemony. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will fiercely resist every attempt to erode constitutional secularism and pluralistic democracy. He affirmed that defending constitutional secularism remains the sacred mission of all progressive forces.
