Editorial context

Commemorating the 123rd birth anniversary of Bharat Ratna Dr. B. R. Ambedkar, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 14, 2014, paid solemn floral tributes to the portrait of the chief architect of the Indian Constitution at the DMK party office in Namakkal. Stalin reflected upon Dr. Ambedkar's monumental crusade against caste oppression, untouchability, and social inequality, noting that the vision of constitutional democracy he crafted remains the protective shield for millions of oppressed and marginalized citizens across India. He emphasized that the Dravidian movement, inspired by Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, shares an unbreakable ideological bond with Babasaheb Ambedkar's philosophy of liberty, equality, and fraternity. Stalin highlighted the DMK's pioneering record in enacting sixty-nine percent reservation, establishing the Adi Dravidar Welfare Department, and creating Periyar Samathuvapurams to eradicate caste segregation in rural housing. He warned that communal and majoritarian forces were actively attempting to subvert the Constitution's secular foundation. Stalin urged party workers and progressive youth to rededicate themselves to defending Babasaheb's constitutional legacy, social equality, and democratic human rights. He affirmed that defending constitutional equality remains the sacred mission of the Dravidian movement.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
