Exposing the utter hypocrisy and ideological bankruptcy of the BJP-led alliance in Tamil Nadu, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 14, 2014, recalled how DMDK leader Vijayakanth and PMK founder Dr. S. Ramadoss had exchanged the most vitriolic corruption allegations and personal insults against each other just three years prior. Stalin remarked that both leaders were entirely accurate in the damning accusations they leveled against one another at that time, accurately describing each other's unreliability and opportunistic tendencies. Yet, without any shame or public explanation, both parties had now embraced each other within the NDA alliance merely to capture political seats under the shadow of the BJP. Stalin pointed out that this shameless surrender of declared principles demonstrated that neither leader possessed any genuine concern for public welfare, Tamil development, or social equality. He contrasted this unprincipled opportunism with the steadfast ideological integrity of the DMK, which has never compromised its core principles of social justice, rationalism, and state rights. Stalin urged the electorate to reject these unprincipled political chameleons and vote decisively for the Rising Sun symbol. He affirmed that authentic political coalitions must rest on principled shared values.
