Holding the AIADMK administration accountable for immense wastage of taxpayer resources, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 16, 2014, declared that Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa must answer to the people of Tamil Nadu for leaving the magnificent Omandurar New Assembly Complex unutilized for three years out of pure political vendetta. Stalin pointed out that hundreds of crores of public funds were invested to construct this architectural marvel to house the state legislature, featuring modern acoustical chambers, digital infrastructure, and expansive public access. However, solely because the landmark complex was built under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi's leadership, the AIADMK regime vindictively abandoned the facility, allowing it to gather dust while mockingly attempting to convert it into a poorly planned hospital without adequate medical clearances. Stalin emphasized that treating state assets as personal political property reveals an arrogant disdain for public money and democratic institutions. He recalled that previous DMK administrations consistently respected and maintained all public infrastructure regardless of which government initiated it. Stalin pledged that the people will punish this vindictive destruction of public resources. He affirmed that preserving public heritage and legislative dignity remains the collective responsibility of all democratic forces.
