Hogganekkal drinking water was ready by 2011 mid. The project was ignored and finally reluctantly opened by video conference.

Editorial context

Exposing the pettiness of vindictive politics in governance, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 17, 2014, pointed out that the monumental Hogenakkal Drinking Water Project was virtually completed by mid-2011 under the previous DMK government. However, because the transformative scheme was conceived and executed by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, the incoming AIADMK regime deliberately ignored it for nearly two years, allowing vital equipment to gather dust while rural populations continued to suffer debilitating fluorosis. Stalin highlighted that it was only after persistent DMK protests, public outrage, and judicial scrutiny that Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa reluctantly performed a token inauguration via video conference, rather than visiting the site or completing feeder networks. He condemned this callous neglect as a betrayal of the impoverished people of Dharmapuri and Krishnagiri, who had waited decades for clean drinking water. Stalin emphasized that public infrastructure funded by public taxpayers belongs to the people and must never be sabotaged for partisan ego. He assured the public that the DMK will always champion public health and water infrastructure. He affirmed that public welfare infrastructure must always transcend narrow partisan calculations.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
