Launching a determined campaign across Perambalur parliamentary constituency on April 19, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin mobilized voters to elect DMK candidate S. Seemanur Prabhu with a decisive majority. Addressing energized gatherings across agrarian villages and commercial towns, Stalin highlighted the urgent developmental demands of the constituency, emphasizing that electing a dedicated, accessible public servant like Seemanur Prabhu would guarantee that Perambalur's agricultural and industrial priorities receive energetic representation in the Lok Sabha. He pointed out that Perambalur had suffered severe agrarian neglect under the AIADMK administration, with local cotton, maize, and sugarcane farmers facing crushing debt due to unremunerative crop prices, delayed mill payments, and acute irrigation deficits. Stalin recalled the monumental welfare initiatives instituted by previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, including extensive rural electrification, hospital upgrades, and farm loan waivers. He urged the electorate to reject corrupt ruling party promises and cast their votes for the Rising Sun symbol to restore agricultural prosperity, create local youth jobs, and improve rural roads.
