Expressing profound anguish over the bleak economic prospects facing Tamil Nadu's educated youth, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 20, 2014, released an analytical video exposing how three years of AIADMK governance had plunged the younger generation into deep crisis. Stalin pointed out that millions of qualified engineering graduates, polytechnic diploma holders, and arts and science students were languishing without job opportunities due to severe industrial slowdown and policy paralysis. He emphasized that the chronic electricity crisis and lack of clear industrial policies had driven prospective domestic and multinational manufacturing investments away from Tamil Nadu to neighboring southern states, resulting in massive employment loss. Stalin recalled that previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi transformed Tamil Nadu into India's premier destination for automobile manufacturing, electronics assembly, and information technology by providing uninterrupted power, modern infrastructure, and transparent clearances. He promised that the DMK's progressive manifesto prioritized comprehensive youth skill-training hubs, modern incubation centers, and large-scale industrial incentives to generate sustainable employment. Stalin affirmed that empowering youth remains central to the Dravidian developmental vision. He affirmed that youth empowerment and employment generation remain top priorities for state progress.
