Highlighting the spirited participation of women voters during his campaign stops in Madurai, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 20, 2014, shared heartwarming visuals showcasing large gatherings of women warmly welcoming his procession. Stalin pointed out that women self-help group members, homemakers, and working women stood in large numbers along roadsides to express their gratitude for the pioneering welfare initiatives introduced by previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi. He recalled that it was the DMK government that introduced landmark equal property rights for women, established the pioneering Self-Help Group movement in Dharmapuri, and created dedicated financial assistance schemes for pregnant mothers and poor brides. Stalin noted that under the current AIADMK regime, the SHG movement had been crippled by bureaucratic neglect and rising inflation, leaving thousands of women entrepreneurs without credit support. He assured the women of Madurai that the DMK will revitalize micro-credit programs, enhance social security pensions, and expand safety measures for women across the state. Stalin declared that the overwhelming support of women remains the strongest pillar of DMK victory. He affirmed that women's empowerment remains the cornerstone of progressive Dravidian governance.
