Condemning provocative and discriminatory statements made by right-wing extremist leaders regarding the residential segregation of religious communities, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on April 21, 2014, declared that such hate speech revealed the dangerous reality of the BJP-led political alliance. Stalin highlighted that inflammatory remarks urging majoritarian groups to deny housing and land to minority Muslim citizens violated fundamental constitutional guarantees of equality, dignity, and freedom of residence. He stressed that Tamil Nadu has historically cherished a glorious tradition of communal fraternity, where Hindus, Muslims, and Christians live side by side in peaceful coexistence and mutual respect. Stalin warned that importing sectarian hatred and social apartheid into Tamil Nadu would destroy the state's peaceful social ecosystem and derail decades of social and economic progress. He called upon the electorate to send an unmistakable, crushing message to communal forces by rejecting their candidates at the ballot box. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will stand as an impregnable shield protecting minority rights, constitutional freedoms, and secular brotherhood across every corner of the state. He affirmed that social fraternity remains vital for protecting communal peace.
