Reaching out personally to citizens wounded in the cowardly terror attack at Chennai Central, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on May 4, 2014, visited the injured passengers undergoing intensive treatment at the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital. Stalin walked through the trauma wards, met each patient individually, gently enquired about their pain and recovery, and extended heartfelt words of courage to their families. He handed over immediate cash assistance on behalf of the party to help families meet daily food, lodging, and incidental expenditures during their hospital stay. Stalin reviewed clinical charts alongside senior medical specialists, urging hospital leadership to leave no stone unturned in administering the highest quality medical care, specialized surgeries, and psychological support. He emphasized that innocent lives must never be treated as mere casualty statistics by the government. Stalin demanded that the state cabinet significantly raise the compensation amount for the grievously wounded, provide permanent government employment to the family of the deceased victim, and cover all ongoing rehabilitation costs. He pledged the DMK's unending solidarity with the victims throughout their path to recovery. He reiterated that human compassion must always define public service during catastrophic emergencies.
