Demonstrating deep humanitarian compassion, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin visited the Rajiv Gandhi Government General Hospital in Chennai on May 4, 2014, to meet the survivors injured in the Chennai Central train bomb blasts. Stalin walked through the trauma wards, met each injured patient individually, enquired about their clinical condition, and comforted their anxious relatives who had traveled from distant districts. He held an extensive discussion with senior surgeons, critical care specialists, and hospital administrators, urging them to deploy the finest medical resources, specialized medicines, and rehabilitative therapy to ensure rapid and complete recoveries for all patients. Stalin presented immediate financial aid to the families to assist with immediate boarding and personal expenses during their stay in Chennai. He commended the tireless dedication of government doctors and nursing staff who provided rapid emergency care during the crisis. Stalin assured the victims that the DMK stands shoulder to shoulder with them in this hour of grief, pledging to pursue their welfare demands until the government provided dignified compensation and comprehensive rehabilitation. He reiterated that the Dravidian movement has always prioritized human compassion and selfless service during moments of acute civilian distress.
