Leading statewide celebrations on the joyous occasion of DMK President Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi's ninety-first birthday on June 3, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin paid heartfelt homage to the towering patriarch whose visionary leadership shaped modern Tamil Nadu. Stalin remarked that for over seven decades, Dr. Kalaignar's prolific literary contributions, revolutionary legislative initiatives, and unyielding defense of social justice have illuminated the social, cultural, and political pathways of the Tamil people. From enacting equal property rights for women and instituting reservation for most backward classes to transforming Chennai into a modern metropolis, Kalaignar's governance legacy remains etched in every progressive milestone of the state. Stalin expressed boundless gratitude for the guidance, ideological clarity, and moral fortitude he received under Dr. Kalaignar's mentorship. Calling upon millions of party cadres to celebrate the day through community service and cultural forums, Stalin reiterated that the greatest tribute to Kalaignar is to carry forward his mission of self-respect, rationalism, and state autonomy. He affirmed that the DMK family stands united under Kalaignar's ideological banner, resolved to protect Tamil welfare and democratic liberties. He affirmed that Dravidian principles will continue to inspire progressive governance for generations.
