Following the decisions from June 2nd DMK meeting, the party will now have 65 district level functions. A big step to start a great journey.

Editorial context

Initiating a historic structural modernization within the party apparatus, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin announced on June 16, 2014, that the DMK was reorganizing its state organizational structure into sixty-five distinct party districts. Stalin explained that this decisive administrative reform, adopted unanimously during the High-Level Working Committee meeting chaired by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi on June 2, was designed to decentralize operational authority, accelerate field responsiveness, and empower younger leaders across all regions. By dividing larger composite districts into compact, manageable administrative units, the leadership aimed to enhance grassroots coordination between booth committees, block organizers, and district secretariats. Stalin described this restructuring as a vital milestone in energizing cadres following the recent parliamentary elections. He highlighted that modern political mobilization requires nimble organizational agility and direct accountability to local party workers and citizens. Stalin called upon newly designated district functionaries to conduct intensive mass outreach drives, systematically enroll youth volunteers, and build community grievance cells in every neighborhood. He emphasized that an energetic, disciplined organizational base remains the bedrock of the Dravidian movement's enduring political strength and public trust. He affirmed that organizational discipline and cadre empowerment remain central to the party.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
