DMK's policy is regional languages & english as a choice to people. (1/2)

Editorial context

Reiterating the Dravidian movement's enlightened linguistic philosophy, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on June 19, 2014, reaffirmed that the DMK firmly advocates the two-language formula comprising the mother tongue and English as the ideal policy choice for citizens. Stalin explained that this policy, pioneered by Perarignar Anna and institutionalized by Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi, guarantees that every child studies and thrives in their native language while acquiring English proficiency to compete confidently in global professional spheres. He emphasized that imposing Hindi creates an artificial hierarchy that places non-Hindi speaking citizens at an inherent disadvantage in education and central employment. Stalin pointed out that Tamil Nadu's exceptional socio-economic progress, world-class healthcare networks, and leading position in information technology directly stem from this progressive bilingual model. He noted that linguistic choice empowers individuals, fosters intellectual creativity, and respects the federal diversity of India. Stalin warned that attempts by central authorities to promote mono-lingual dominance violate the federal spirit of the Constitution. He pledged that the DMK would unceasingly defend linguistic autonomy, ensuring that the mother tongue remains supreme in state life. He affirmed that preserving linguistic plurality remains vital for genuine democratic cohesion.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
