Celebrating a meaningful milestone in youth empowerment, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin on June 23, 2014, commended the DMK Youth Wing for successfully conducting its annual academic excellence awards for the sixth consecutive year, directly benefiting over 12,000 meritorious students. Stalin explained that the program was instituted to identify, encourage, and provide financial sponsorships to high-achieving secondary and higher secondary students from disadvantaged socio-economic backgrounds across all districts of Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the Youth Wing was not established merely for political rallies but to function as a dynamic catalyst for social transformation, community welfare, and educational advancement. Stalin recalled how Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi had always instilled a profound love for learning within the Dravidian movement, teaching cadres that knowledge and self-respect are the ultimate tools for social liberation. Interacting warmly with award recipients, their parents, and schoolteachers, Stalin urged the students to pursue higher studies with unflagging ambition, ethical integrity, and social responsibility. He reaffirmed that the DMK would continue to champion student welfare, provide educational scholarships, and create an inclusive environment where young minds can achieve excellence.
