Reinforcing the Dravidian movement's enduring commitment to secular brotherhood and inclusive social welfare, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin participated in grand Ramzan celebrations organized by former legislator P. K. Sekar Babu in Chennai on July 26, 2014. Stalin distributed direct financial assistance, essential dry ration kits, and educational aid packages to hundreds of economically underprivileged families from diverse community backgrounds. Speaking warmly to the gathering, Stalin conveyed heartfelt festive greetings to the Muslim community, celebrating the universal values of compassion, self-discipline, and charity exemplified during the holy month of Ramadan. He recalled that previous DMK governments under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi introduced pathbreaking minority welfare initiatives, including the landmark 3.5 percent reservation for backward Muslims, the establishment of the Tamil Nadu Minorities Economic Development Corporation, and the creation of an Urdu Academy. Stalin emphasized that Tamil Nadu's social harmony rests upon mutual respect, shared cultural festivities, and equitable economic upliftment across all communities.
