Extending his heartfelt greetings and best wishes to the Muslim community on the joyful and sacred occasion of Eid-ul-Fitr on July 28, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin called for universal peace, fraternal brotherhood, and communal harmony across Tamil Nadu. Stalin remarked that the holy month of Ramadan, marked by rigorous fasting, sincere prayer, and generous charitable giving, exemplifies the virtues of empathy, discipline, and compassion toward the less fortunate. He emphasized that the Dravidian movement has always stood as an unwavering shield protecting religious minorities and upholding secular democracy against divisive sectarian forces. Recalling the progressive welfare measures enacted by previous DMK administrations under Dr. Kalaignar Karunanidhi—such as establishing the State Minorities Commission, providing exclusive reservation for Muslims in education and public employment, and supporting welfare boards—Stalin reaffirmed the party's steadfast commitment to safeguarding the constitutional rights and socio-economic advancement of minority communities. He wished that the auspicious festival of Eid would foster greater mutual understanding, communal solidarity, lasting brotherhood, peace, happiness, and prosperous future for all families throughout Tamil Nadu, reinforcing the state's rich and pluralistic cultural fabric.
