Visiting the temple town and agricultural hub of Tiruvannamalai on August 4, 2014, DMK Treasurer M. K. Stalin addressed a massive consultative conference of district party functionaries, youth wing members, and grassroots cadres. Stalin commended the enthusiastic gathering for their steadfast dedication to the Dravidian movement, emphasizing that Tiruvannamalai has historically remained an unshakeable bastion of social justice and rationalist activism. During the detailed interactive session, local functionaries brought to light pressing regional problems, including severe agricultural distress among paddy and groundnut farmers, severe electricity load shedding, and the complete stoppage of key drinking water projects initiated under previous DMK regimes. Stalin listened attentively, taking detailed notes and assuring the cadres that the DMK would vigorously raise these public grievances both on the streets and in legislative debates. He instructed the district leadership to strengthen booth committees across all assembly segments, induct energetic young members, and launch coordinated door-to-door mass contact programs. Calling for total unity and disciplined teamwork, Stalin motivated the Tiruvannamalai cadres to build a powerful democratic movement against the corrupt and ineffective AIADMK administration across the state.
